Luke!!!
Hello my sweet little angel! I can't believe that the last time I wrote to you was back in October! My, has a lot happened since then. I really need to be better about keeping up with the posts! If it wasn't for Ashley Swindoll I may have gone another few weeks! So, let's all thank her. Thanks Ash, for pushing me to blog!
Let's start with a sports update, since I know you LOVE sports! The Rangers didn't win the World Series- such a heartbreaking deal. But we all have full faith that they will be there next year to try again, 3rd times a charm, right? Go Rangers! We still believe. Tech football was a pretty big disappointment this year, 1st time they aren't bowl eligible in years. There's always next year I suppose. Cowboys are nothing but stressful right now, let's not talk about them. Your Dad and I are trying to win our fantasy league this year, it would just be more $$ to buy you all the things you want. We are in playoffs right now, I will let you know the end results. And, the NBA lockout has ended so the first Mavericks game will be Christmas Day. They won the championship last season, so they are kind of a big deal! Go Mavs!
So, today marks 29 weeks 1 day pregnant and I've got quite the baby bump going on! The doctor says you are measuring one week ahead. I am feeling really good and looking pretty good- I suppose. I only have one pregnancy issue, carpel tunnel in my left hand. It came on about 4 weeks ago, and now I'm in a brace. Drying my hair and even shaving my legs can be pure torture. Not because of my belly getting in the way, but my hand, all the way to my elbow, kills me! The brace is helping, and the doc says that it should go away 2-4 weeks after you arrive, so I am holding on to that for now! Dad may have to learn how to round brush my hair before it's all said and done!
Luke, I got your Christmas stocking in last week. Now, I know you won't be here ( you better not be) this year, but we can't help but celebrate with you anyways. It matches our stockings from Pottery Barn and has your name on it! I love it! It really makes it that much more real to think that you will be 10 months old for Christmas in 2012!! Dad and I have also bought you a crib, mattress, dresser and mirror, more clothes, a high chair, and some other much needed things like diapers, wipes and blankets. Dad is actually picking up the dresser and mirror as I type this! I can't wait to get it all set up tonight!
Dad has also been busy painting your room the past two days. He got the first coat on the walls yesterday and will finish today. We went with a cream color on 3 walls with an accent wall of red. The red matches the red in your bedding. Oh, that's another thing, I FINALLY got the fabric ordered for your bedding! Your Grandma Kogler is going to make your bedding! I can't wait!!! The colors are mainly red, navy, and ecru with a touch of light blue. Once the fabrics all come in, I will take a picture of them and post on another post. My idea behind your room was that I didn't really want a "theme" and I didn't want to have a lot of baby-ish looking things like light blue, instead it will just scream boy (sports, cars, monsters, animals, hunting, fishing, firefighter, etc) and have a vintage feel to it! It's all up in my brain and kind of hard to put down on paper, but once I can get in there and decorate, it will make way more sense.
We have two baby showers this weekend- TWO! A couples shower on Saturday night, and a ladies shower Sunday afternoon. I will be sure to do a post with lots of pictures of the gifts and the attendees. I am really excited about this weekend but I know I am going to be exhausted! I already know you're going to be a little show off. You like to move around and make my belly deformed in front of people! But, it is all about you, so go on ahead and be our little show boat, make all the ladies go crazy over you!
We stated going to the doctor every two weeks now for check ups. These usually consist of a BP check for me, measuring my tummy, and getting to hear your heart beat. However, in 3 weeks from today we get to have another sonogram! Dad and I are so excited to get to see you again, and see how much you've grown since the last sono at 19 weeks. What a great Christmas gift! This will probably be our last sonogram, so I will post all three (from 8 weeks, 19 weeks and 32 weeks) pics after.
Tis the Season, my sweet baby! This is a busy time of year with lots of parties and celebrations! I can't wait to be able to hold you at all of these fun events next year! But for now, we will keep praying that you continue to grow strong and healthy.
February can't come soon enough, Baby Love.
I love you, Luke Willson Kogler.
Love,
Mom

Life in the Very Fast Lane
Dear My Sweetest Son,
Sorry it's been so long since I've shared any news with you. Sometimes I feel like we live our life in the fast lane and the days come and go even more quickly. It doesn't help that I am also guilty of pregnancy brain and tend to forget somethings... so I apologize, but better late than never!
This whole pregnancy has been very easy, I really can't think of one thing that has been difficult. Compared to my friends Alicia and Lacy, you have been overly nice to me! I do appreciate that. Poor Alicia and Lacy have both been puking for weeks, and Alicia who is way into her second trimester is still not getting much relief from her baby love. She said that her and Charlie will probably adopt the next go-round because of how sick she's been-poor thing! The nausea during the first trimester wasn't cool, but I managed, and it was only for a few weeks. As long as I had crackers or something quick to snack on near by it pretty under control. Now, the peeing thing... sometimes I do get a little annoyed with that, but for good reason. At work, we do not have a bathroom on the floor I work on, and I have to walk down to the next floor to pee. The problem with this, is that I tend to wait till I feel like my bladder is going to explode and then take off running down the stairs. It's a bad habit, I know, but dang it's far and potentially dangerous (I'm always saying "please don't fall, please don't fall"). When we got to see you in the last sonogram, the tech said that you were using my bladder for a pillow. Don't I know this! There are sometimes I will feel so much pressure that it feels like you are playing with it making it pulsate. But if that's the worst feeling I get from being pregnant, then I'll take it!
The best feeling I get, is when I get to feel you moving. You are a pretty active guy, which is awesome! I'm beginning to think that you really like Ranger baseball! Every time we are watching a game you get really active! I did get to go to one ALDS game this year and you definitly loved that! That was the most I had felt you move! Meredith and I laughed because even though she was drinking beer throughout the whole game, I had to get up and pee more then her, like 5 to 1. At least twice an inning. Honestly, it was okay because the boys didn't play all that well that game.
I hope you do still enjoy baseball when you get older. I can't wait for your Dad and I to be able to take you to your first Ranger game! One great memory I can't wait to share with you is that the Rangers are in the World Series for only the second time in francise history. Game 6 is tomorrow, and the Rangers are leading 3 games to 2 over the Cardinals. I will be sure to put a news clip in your keepsakes when the Rangers claim their first World Series title tomorrow! This is History, Mr. Luke, and we will get to share it with you some day.
"I remember when we were 23 weeks pregnant with you and the Rangers won their first World Series." I can hear your Dad and I now!
We did have a doctor's appointment today. Of course, she said that you were perfect (duh- we already know this) and you are growing like crazy! We got to hear your heart beat, which was very strong! Keep growing little buddy, we want you strong and healthy!
Dad and I have been shopping a lot lately. We got one of our registries done, with one more to go. We have been pricing baby furniture and trying to decide on fabric for your bedding. Buying a lot of clothes- you have to look good! While we were in Tennessee visiting your Uncle Miles and Aunt Michelle and Aunt Stephanie, Michelle and I found your coming home outfit! It is adorable, and I can't wait to put you in it. Well, I can wait till February, but you know what I mean! You just stay put a few more months, then I will put you in the adorable outfit!
Well, my Baby Love, I think I have got us caught up since the last post! Time is flying by, and as much as I love being pregnant with you, I sure can't wait to hold you in February and I know your Dad is just as excited and anxious as I am. Oh- Dad finally felt you move on Sunday! We were watching the Rangers, and you were doing "the Wash" in my tummy (mimicing the Ranger Manager, Ron Washington, in the dug out when his guys are running bases. He runs in place with them and it's hilarious!)
Keep growing strong! We love you!!!
Love,
Mom

Your Surprise Was A Great One!!!
Dear Baby Love,
Or should I say, "Dear Baby Luke"? That's right!!!!! A boy!!! And your Dad and I could not be more excited to know you are a healthy baby boy!
Wednesday, the 28th was quite the day. We had a doctors appointment that included a sonogram (finally) at 1pm and a party to reveal your surprise at 6:30. Not being able to share the news with everyone right away was so hard and I'm pretty sure your grandmothers were turning more grey by the minute having to wait so long.
At the doctors appointment, we first got the good news that you are a perfectly healthy baby. They took all of your measurements and checked you out throughly. Of couse, your Dad and I already knew you were perfect! The sono tech then asked us if we wanted to find out your sex. WELL OF COURSE WE DO! As she scanned you over and got in position, I knew immeditaly when I saw 'it'. A BOY!!!! Your Dad got the biggest child like grin on his face, threw his fist in the air screaming "yes'! You will soon learn that Dad does this often when he get's excited, but I have never seen him smile that big. He is very proud to have you as his son!
Now, on to the reveal party! We had everyone meet at your Uncle Brent and Aunt Erica's house at 6:30. We didn't want everyone to have to wait any longer so we did the reveal as soon as everyone was there. We revealed to everyone by wrapping blue balloons in a huge box, and letting your cousin, Sloan, open it. She is the world's slowest present opener so it only added to the suspense! She did great!
Your Aunt Michelle and Uncle Miles joined us via Skype from West Virgina and your Aunt Stephanie and boyfriend Brad joined us via Skype from Tennessee. Thank goodness for Skype, because it was just like them being there for the whole thing, and they got a front row seat! Pop and Grandpa both joined the party via telephone because they were both out of town on business.
Aunt Erica made the cutest freakin' cakes in a jar I'd ever seen, she baked pink and blue cakes in baby food jars! So festive and fun and yummy, of course!
What's a party without presents!!?!? We were excited to get 'em for you, including your first onsie from Dave Amanda and Baby Daniel.
Here are some other great pictures from the night.
What an exciting day for all of us! I have apologized over and over to your grandparents for making them wait till the end of the day to find out that you are a boy, but the memory that we created will last a lifetime!
Our hearts filled with joy when we got to see you on the sonogram. While we always pray and were praying for you to be a healthy baby, I must admit we might have thrown in a prayer or two that you were a boy. And you may only be 10 inches long, and weigh only about 11 ounces, but you have given us the most love and joy already!
Luke Willson Kogler, we will see you in February! Keep growing healthy and strong, My Baby Love!
Love,
Mom and Dad

Tomorrow's THE Day!!!! Well, one of THE Days...
Hi Baby Love,
I just need to share with you how excited your Dad and I are about tomorrow... EXCITED!!!!!!! We get to see you on the sonogram tomorrow for the first time since week 8. Not only do we get to see you, but you will finally get to share your secret! I hope that you are not the shy kind come about 1:15 tomorrow!
Oh, we did another gender predictor on Sunday. We took my wedding ring, put in on a necklace and then dangled it over my belly. The wives tale is if the ring swings side to side in a line then it's a boy and if it swings in a circle then it's a girl. Well, your a BOY! We did it about 10 times and every time it moved side to side. There was even a split second that it swung in a circle and then went right into the side to side swing!
As excited as we are to know your secret, this is a big important appointment. This will be the first appointment that the doctor actually takes measurements and checks you out throughly. We are praying for a healthy you, but we already know you are perfect!
We are having a reveal party with the rest of the family and closest friends tomorrow evening. Your Dad and I came up with a really fun way to tell them all if you are Tynleigh or Luke... I can't say how we are doing it, yet, in case someone reads this before tomorrow... but I will be sure to post again and with A LOT of pictures! I am making your Dad take my phone away from me after the appointment tomorrow, because I really don't think I can not not call someone... just one... to share this great news EEKK!
We love you Baby Love!!! Can't wait to see you tomorrow, even if it is a black and white sonogram! :)
Love you so so much!

Today's Menu
Dear My Sweetest Baby Love,
One of the hardest things about being pregnant is giving up some of my favorite food and drinks. Now, I will admit that it really hasn't been that hard for me, but I do sometimes crave the things I can't have...SUSHI... this word just makes me drool... but I know it's only temporary and one day I will be able to eat it's delicousness again accomponied by a HUGE glass of wine. It is also hard because I am already a pretty picky eater (please don't take after me when it comes to this, take after your Dad who doesn't discriminate against food) and a lot of what I love, is on the list of no-nos or moderate servings.
Another favorite food is itallian. I don't eat it very often because I don't need my hips to be any bigger than they already are, but enjoying a good plate of pasta and glass of wine sure makes me feel all warm and fuzzy... up until just a few weeks ago. I have tried to eat itallian only twice while you were growing, but I learned very quickly that you don't really care for itallian... not in the least bit. And as a matter of fact, even while I type this you are reminding me how much you don't like it. We will work on this maybe once you get a little older... you don't know what your missing! It's okay though, I know my hips thank you. As far as other aversions, I really haven't had much. Vegitables and red meat were a big one for a while. I still have to force down some veggies, but I do okay.
I actually had my first REAL pregnancy craving just the other day. It is pretty random, and probably not the healthest thing to crave, but stopping a craving just isn't going to happen right now! Let me just share this quick story with you. I needed to go to the grocery store for some milk and eggs and while I was there I wanted some Honey Smacks cereal. I had actually been craving it since that morning and what's funny is that I couldn't tell you the last time I actually had a bowl of these... So, I ate some for dinner that night and of course some for breakfast the next morning. I called Gran Jan to tell her about this random craving (now I know there really isn't such thing as random when your preggers) and how they were so super fantastic. Her response was "OH MY GOSH". Umm, uhhh, she made me a little nervous saying it so loud... She said that she craved the exact same thing when she was pregnant with me over 27 years ago!!!! WHAT!!?!?!! How crazy is that!?!?! Now I have another reason to believe that your big surprise will be that you are Tynleigh. I am trying really hard to just satisfy the craving and not go over board with this yummy sugary goodness.
All and all, I think you and I are making a good team when it comes to food and drinks. You haven't caused me to "lose my lunch", so for that, I am super grateful! And, I promise I will do my absolute best to give you every nutirent you need to grow healthy and strong over the next few months.
We love you!
Love,
Mom
P.S. Thanks for the constant reminders that you are growing big and strong. Being able to feel you move is one of the most awesome feelings!

Boy or Girl??? Your little surprise!
Dear Baby Love--
You're lucky your Mom likes surprises. I say this because we were surprised by you back in June when "the" test showed positive for a baby, and now you are surprising us again on the 28th, as noted in the previous letter. So, while, yes I love surprises and these are probably some of the best surprises, yet, I have to tell you, that I'm learning patience, too. Do you know how hard it is not to go to the store and just buy buy buy?? The baby stores, while over whelming to say the least, have some of the most adorable things and the only reason why I've held off is because I need to know if I am buying dinosaurs and blue, or bling and pink! So, we wait (your Dad is thanking you because his checking account isn't showing Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby over and over yet) patiently, to buy buy buy. Now, on the 28th, GAME ON Baby Love, GAME ON!
Okay, let me be honest for a second. I have bought a couple of things, just a couple, I promise. See, your Dad is a firefighter, a very proud firefighter. We are all very proud of him. And, well, I have found some really cute firefighter stuff for you. I know we don't know if you're Tynleigh or Luke yet, but I would consider these couple of things perfect for you regardless. The one little outfit I bought has an adorable crocheted fire truck on the front of it. I figure I will just stick a red bow on your head if you are Tynleigh to make it girlie. I also got a whimsical fire truck blanket from Pottery Barn that is totally presh (as your Auntie Meredith would say) for you to spend some tummy time on.
Now, on to the predictions:
Until next time, my love, we love you!
Love,
Mom and Dad

- Your Dad and I both think you are Tynleigh. No real reason to believe this, just parent intuition I suppose. Maybe because we have had the name Tynleigh picked out for years, and Luke took us a long time to decide on.
- There is a 50/ 50 split with everyone else. Most of your aunts and uncles think you're a girl. G-ma and G-pa Kogler haven't really said, Gran Jan thinks your a boy and Pop is still in shock that you are even real.
- The doctor told us on our first visit that you were a girl based on your heart rate of 168. This, by the way, was the first time we got to see you.
- According to the Chinese calendar, you are a girl if you were conceived on May 31 and a boy if you were conceived in June.
Until next time, my love, we love you!
Love,

It's true, February is when your due!
Dear Baby Love--
I decided to start this blog for you. It's a way for Dad and I to reflect in the time you are growing in my belly. Hopefully, one day, in like 15 years we can share it with you- by then you might understand what most of the stuff means.
We found out the Saturday before Father's Day that you were there. I took "the" test without your Dad being here (he told me to), which is kind of funny because I had a minor freak out moment by myself. It's okay though, it wasn't a bad freak out moment, it was more like an okay this is really happening kind of moment.
We told your grandparents and aunt and uncles the next day on Father's Day which was a lot of fun. Gran Jan didn't believe you were real, it took some convincing by a picture of "the" test to prove you to her. Now, she already loves you unconditionally; and I am pretty sure that all of your grandparents and aunt and uncles do too.
Now, we wait till February 20, 2012 to get to hold you for the first time and since I've never really had any practice with babies (still never even changed a diaper) I am going to need that long to figure some things out. I promise I will figure it out by then, but thanks for giving me almost 9 months notice-- I'm gonna need it!
Your Dad and I joke that you will probably join us on Valentine's Day (which is cool with us) so we named you Baby Love until we know if you are a little boy or girl. I'm sure Baby Love will probably stick though, so I apologize if you think that's your name. Sorry for the confusion! We find out if you are Tynleigh Grace or Luke Willson in just a little over a week (I can't freakin' wait) so I hope you are ready to show us the goods on the 28th, please and thanks. Oh, and I apologize again for the crazy spelling of what will be your name, so let me explain. I wanted a fun spelling for Tynleigh if you are a girl, I think it looks really pretty and your auntie Erica's middle name is spelled Leigh so she can help you out with that. And, Willson, well, that's how you spell that side of your family's name- 2 L's. So, in other words, you will probably always have to spell out your name (including Kogler) to E-V-E-R-Y-B-O-D-Y.
We love you Baby Love, more than words can express, and we pray for you everyday. Until next time, I love you!
Love,
Mom and Dad
